Why Kickstarter?

While Vat19 has been around since 2007 and has an incredible online fan base, we are still a very small online retail company. We operate a small warehouse and video studio in St. Louis, Missouri that employs less than 20 people.
All of our current products on the Vat19.com website come from 3rd party manufacturers. Buying a product that exists is much easier and less expensive than designing and manufacturing one.
The Not-a-Cat Cat is the first product that we will be designing and manufacturing ourselves which is a very costly process. Funding this project on Kickstarter will not only make the manufacturing possible, it will also allow us to get the Not-a-Cat Cat into the hands of our customers that truly love the world’s first “stuffed”.
