While world was focused on Christmas holiday and high-stakes peace talks in Florida, Vladimir Putin unleashed a massacre. Overnight, Russia launched what is now confirmed as second-largest combined drone and missile strike of entire war. Over 650 drones and 38 missiles—including Kinzhal hypersonics—targeted 13 different regions across Ukraine. This was not a tactical military strike; it was systematic assault on civilian infrastructure of daily life. From western border to heart of Kyiv, sky was filled with fire as Kremlin attempted to freeze nation into submission just 48 hours before Christmas.
Western regions of Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, and Ternopil have been plunged into near-total darkness, with nuclear power stations forced to curb output to prevent total grid collapse. At least three people were killed, including a 4-year-old child in Zhytomyr. As peace talks continue between U.S. and Russia in Miami, this strike sends chilling signal: Putin is not serious about peace while he is busy killing families in their homes.
